STEP 1. Your Waist.
Keep in mind that when a waist is too big, it gaps. Pick a generous size with an extra inch or so to allow your waist to relax. If it’s too tight, it’s uncomfortable and can squeeze or pinch. Small waist needs special attention too as these areas often gaps and the solution isn’t always a belt. A properly fitting waistband should sit comfortably at your waist. According to Angela/Product Manager Lee Misses Denim, the perfect fit in that area of the body can be obtained with jeans that incorporate Comfort Waistband Technology.
STEP 2: Consider the Thighs
STEP 3: Stomach, with or without support?
Denim designs are constantly evolving along with the human shape. Now plus size women can choose denim models that will provide a “Gentle Control” as a support to the stomach area to help build a balanced silhouette. Make sure you ask for this specific model when selecting your pants.
Research says that women care for the look of their back shape. If you don’t like what you see in that area, then receive comfort by knowing that fashion designers have somehow become magicians capable to create visual illusions to solve these problems. For example, a flat backside can be made to look rounder and a fuller one suddenly seem smaller.
If you have a generous size seat and you want to make it look smaller, then get pants in dark color wash and dark embroideries to create a slimming effect in the back. For average seats, make sure your back pockets are not small or too big; just stick to the normal size in order to highlight your curves. Small seats must consider pants with well embellished pockets to help create the visual illusion of more curves in that area.
